I was introduced to djing in High School. My younger cousin – DJ Khris, showed me the ropes and let me play around on the equipment that he and his “crew” had at the time. I made my first House mix tape (yes, I said tape) - back in '86.

Then, of course, life took over. Fast forward 20 years…and while living in Champaign, hanging out at a friend’s house, I discovered that "all-in-one" djing systems were available. Within a week, I had one of my own…and as they say, the rest is history. I haven't been able to stop mixing!
I got paid for my first gig in 2008. Since then, I have done many private gatherings and public events. For over a year, I was the resident DJ at a bar in town called Emerald City. In 2013, I was the entertainment for the Faculty Women of Color in the Academy - National Conference at the University of Illinois. And over the years, I've had the pleasure of opening up for some of Chicago's top Professional DJs
In 2015, with 7 years of experience, I attended Scratch DJ Academy. I graduated in May 2016. My life hasn't been the same! That relationship even led to me providing music for a Macy's store department grand opening and at the Top Shop retailer on Michigan Ave.
In 2017, I appeared on WIIT's 88.9FM Da'Booth radio program, played at the Silver Room Block Party in Hyde Park and at the African Festival of The Arts in Washington Park. 2018 brought additional opportunities. I performed and was interviewed by Lori Branch for the first time on her Vintage House Music radio show at WNUR, represented for the Queens of House, finished 1st in DJ Sundance’s 25 in 5 challenge and kicked off one of her Klassic Hip Hop day parties. That April, my open format - then House mixes began airing every Friday @4pm on 89.3 FM, WKKC's radio station. On the last Friday of the month, you can catch me spinning LIVE as I simulcast on both twitch.tv/djdreea and twitch.tv/soulfulhousemusiccollage - SHMC channels.
My goal is to continue to grow and respect the craft - while aiming to “make your body move” - no matter the genre or occasion. I'm an up and coming female DJ in Chicago...yes, it's DJ Dreea Muzic time!
